*I finally figured out how to add myself as an author to Bella's blog so we can co-author should she decide to add any posts and when I write it won't say Bella was the author.
April 15, 2013 - Day 9
Shocked and saddened by the terror in Boston and praying for the victims and their families and also that the terror is limited to what they've already discovered.
Bella had a rough night again last night (is there anything else in a hospital?). She cried out dance in her sleep and again woke grumpy and with a headache. She perked up a tiny bit after bath and finally got to have some massage th...erapy. Her neck and lower back have been hurting often (Mom needs a massage too!).
She was very happy when she got to FaceTime with her class. But As soon as she hung up, she began to sink into sadness again and didn't have much fire when her weekday PT (physical therapist) came by. However, she walked on the parallel bars again - taking 7, 8 and then 10 steps. That PT session completely wore her out for a while. Brian brought McDonalds for Bella for lunch. Bella has really grown weary of hospital food so it's hard to get her to eat much anymore. Even with the McDonalds, she only ate 3.5 chicken nuggets before she was full. The occupational therapist took her out of the room and Brian and I visited with the rep from Baylor's Our Children's House (BOCH). We weren't terribly impressed with her "sales pitch" but all the doctors and nurses say it is the best place for her to go. They will take her by ambulance sometime after 9 AM tomorrow. Once there, we'll go through some orientations and get our schedules set up for the week. They are expecting to discharge her to outpatient rehab next Monday but will know more as she improves this week.
Bella is sad, scared and pretty depressed this afternoon. She doesn't want to go to BOCH. She thinks the hospital sounds more fun if she can't go home. I must admit I'm a little nervous too but I know it has to be better than here.
